WIFE BEGINS AT FORTY

No stranger to Ray Cooney farces, Vicki has starred as Linda in Wife begins at Forty on a number of occasions. A soul in torment, Linda is a woman with needs but doesn’t want to admit they are more physical than spiritual. Passion, pathos and confusion are all present in abundance in Vicki’s portrayal.

After 17 years of marriage to the faithful but predictable George, Linda is struggling to come to terms with the fact that what were once flames of passion, are now best described as glowing embers. Approaching an age she’d rather forget and disillusioned with her life, she determines to leave and change things for the better. But George is not prepared to let the embers die without putting up a fight, aided and abetted by his eccentric dad, Bernard, son Leonard and neighbours Betty and Roger with a flamenco dancer, vasectomy and sculpting classes all playing their parts in the hilarious results.
