WESTENDERS

Vicki is no stranger to the inside of a radio studio either as a guest interviewee or presenter. She first met Jonathan Parker and Marcus Heald, presenters of the hugely popular Radio Humberside Sunday evening show Westenders while appearing at The Theatre Royal Lincoln as Maxine in Richard Harris’ Stepping Out. An invitation to guest on the show was hotly followed by several others with Vicki soon becoming a regular. It came as no surprise therefore that Vicki was invited to co-present on one of the boy’s Christmas Specials

Arriving at the studio as hour before the broadcast she had time to adjust to her surroundings read through her running order and complete sound checks, before going straight into the live show. During the two hour programme which also linked live to the BBC Newcastle studio where Marcus was based, Vicki worked in tandem with Jonathan Parker interviewing a number of celebrities appearing in pantomime across the region including Paul Daniels, Debbie McGee, Jeffrey Holland, Judy Buxton, Kevin Kennedy and Peter Amory. The interviews were initiated completely spontaneously and without script. Vicki also provided promotional links and her own unique blend of humour.
