Vicki’s connection with Blind Veterans came as a direct result of presenting the 2016 Soldiering On Awards. Blind Veterans aim is to support anyone who has served in the Armed Forces or has done National Service and now suffers with significant sight loss.

Dinner in the Dark is just one of many regular fundraisers the charity organizes and gives those attending some insight into the daily problems faced by blind or visually impaired people when simply attempting the routine task of eating a meal. To that end, the meal was conducted in almost complete darkness. Aside from the splendid three-course dinner, Vicki introduced a variety of entertainers including opera singer Gwawr Edwards and magician Etienne Pradier, a number of special guests including June Brown and Nick Caplan, presented a special achievement award and conducted the raffle and silent auction.
